MarTech

Brandpilot.

Brandpilot had just launched a new product into martech with a small team and nobody assigned to find buyers for it. The people worth reaching were eCommerce marketers already spending heavily on paid search.

We scored accounts on what they were spending before we wrote to them, opened with a webinar rather than a demo, and let the SDR propose a pilot once interest was real.

Challenge

The challenge

Brandpilot had recently launched a new product and was looking to grow its customer base. However, with a small internal team and no dedicated sales or marketing outreach resource, they lacked the capacity to effectively generate new leads.

Approach

Score the spend before you write.

  1. 01

    How we ran it

We began by estimating each company's paid search ad spend using workflows built in Clay and data pulled from the SEMrush API. This gave us a rough sense of their website traffic and ad budgets. We prioritized eCommerce-focused companies, knowing they typically invest heavily in search advertising. Our approach focused on building highly targeted prospect lists and engaging these audiences with relevant content, starting with webinar invitations. From there, an SDR would follow up to nurture leads through personalized outreach. Once interest was established, the SDR would propose a pilot program to demonstrate a clear proof of concept

Results

Qualified leads, from a standing start.

Six months of outreach produced 40 qualified leads and $600K in sourced pipeline for a product that had only just launched.

Estimating each company's paid-search budget from SEMrush data inside Clay meant the list was ranked by ability to care before the first email went out — and the pilot offer gave interested prospects a way to prove it internally.
